NEW DELHI: Najeeb Danish, a MI spokesman has said that five gardeners of Intercontinental Hotel have been removed from the terrorists and more than 100 guests and employees have been rescued and the 6th floor still needs to be cleaned. The number of deaths is five while six are wounded.

Two terrorists are also killed. Four heavily armed soldiers attacked the city's luxury Intercontinental hotel on Saturday midnight in a major terrorist attack in Afghanistan's capital Kabul. Unsupported sources said at least 15 people have been killed.

Gundeepers started shooting indiscriminately over guests and hotel staff. They put the hotel building in the fire, the officials said. They were engaged by Afghan security forces and according to the latest reports gun war is still going on.

No organisation or individual has taken the responsibility of the attack but it is suspected that the ISIS could be behind the assault.The attack follows a series of security warnings in recent days to avoid hotels and other locations frequented by foreigners.Special forces used helicopters to land on the roof of the landmark hilltop hotel during the night-time siege, interior ministry deputy spokesman Nasrat Rahimi told AFP, adding two attackers had been killed.

According to the Afghan media, "many guests and staff have been taken to the protected area by members of the emergency response unit and Special Forces, who carry out the clearance operation. At least 3 terrorists are still inside the hotel."
