How to speed up Windows 10 on your PC or laptop

Whether you like it or not, after using your Windows laptop or PC for a considerable amount of time, it’s performance is likely to drop. It’s not always the hardware which causes the performance to dip, sometimes it’s the software also which can lead to a massive slowdown on the machine. Remove the ‘autoloaders’
Often when you switch on your laptop, there are certain programs that load automatically. To find out which are these programs, follow the simple steps. Right click on the taskbar and select Task manager. Here you will find the Startup tab, click on it. You will now see the list of programs that load automatically. To stop the ones from loading, simply Right click on it and select the Disable option.

Stop the Windows Tips
While Microsoft does want you to know the latest tips and tricks, Windows 10 has up its sleeve, it really slows down your laptop. To disable those ‘tips and tricks’, simply follow these steps: click Start and go to Settings. Here, click on the System tab and you will see Notifications and Actions on the left pane. There will be an option of turning off ‘Get tips, tricks and suggestions’, just click on it and you won’t see them again.

Disk Cleanup
This tip has been around almost ever since Windows has been there. But there’s a reason why its still used as it remains as effective as ever. In the search or Cortana field, just type Disk Cleanup. Here you will see the files and data which can easily be dumped. Disk Cleanup will take care of it and save you a lot of space and also boost the performance of your machine.

Remove bloatware
A lot of brands these days stuff laptops with unnecessary bloatware and they do hamper the performance of your system. However, you can just remove these pre-installed apps. Just Right-click on the Start menu and head to the Control Panel. Here under the Programs tab, click on Uninstall a program. Choose any apps/program that you didn’t want but has been forced on you.

Change the way it looks
You can alter the appearance of your Windows 10 in order to improve performance. Follow these steps: Right-click on Start and select System. Here on the left pane, select the tab Advanced System Settings. Once you land here you will see the System Properties Dialog box, simply click the Settings button. Here you can uncheck a few options or better, just select the ‘Adjust for best performance’ option
